Rockford offers its citizens all the sophistication of urban America while refusing to give up its rural charm. a high school, middle school, and seven elementary schools. The high school has a new $34 million complex with a telecommunications center at its core, including computer labs for grades K-12. Shoppers enjoy the Rockford Outlet Mall and Squires Street Square. Recreational opportunities abound in Rockford. Fishing for steelhead and salmon at the Rockford Dam on the Rogue River bring anglers from all over Michigan. Horse ranches dot the countryside offering lush trails and equestrian competitions. River canoeing and tubing are local favorites. Additionally there are seven city parks, nearby snow skiing and a community pool.
